The City of Palo Alto Utilities is pleased to offer its commercial and industrial customers the opportunity to purchase renewable energy.
Supporting renewable energy through PaloAltoGreen is an easy way for businesses to achieve dramatic reductions in greenhouse gas emissions and capture valuable community recognition.
97.5% of the renewable energy purchased through PaloAltoGreen is sourced from wildlife-friendly wind turbines in Oregon. The other 2.5% comes from solar installations in Palo Alto and around California.
Participation in PaloAltoGreen is easy and affordable. There are no major capital expenditures and you can reverse your decision at any time. The cost for large businesses (E4 & E7 rate classes) is $15 per 1,000 kilowatt-hour block of renewable energy. Small businesses (E2 rate class) can purchase renewable energy for 100% of their usage at the cost of an additional 1.5 cents per kWh.
PaloAltoGreen businesses can also join the PaloAltoGreen Team. The Team Card, as it’s commonly known, is a discount program that promotes your business to PaloAltoGreen residential customers – over 20% of Palo Altans. The PaloAltoGreen Team costs nothing to join and will not add any charge to your utility bill.
